Ken Lorton
Ken lives in Warsaw, Missouri, and is retired from the Tulsa OK Fire Department. He was raised in the country near Ramona, OK. Ken has attended gatherings all over the west for 12 years and has been reciting cowboy poetry for six years. His connection to the resurgence of cowboy music and poetry is his desire to celebrate the great American Cowboy era by reciting and telling stories that depict historical reality.
He was an understudy to the late Dale Kendall, one of the few remaining true artisans in the craft of braiding soft deer leather into beautiful horse tack. Ken's desire is to teach and inspire young folks of today to learn, enjoy, and pass on the almost forgotten art of leather braiding. Ken demonstrates and sells his beautiful deer hide work at each Echoes of the Trail gathering.
